Overview

Instant Contact List Manager provides an enterprise management application to centrally update employee's S4B contact lists as part of a Microsoft Office 365 deployment. Typically, this may be helpful during an enterprise migration from IBM Sametime® to Microsoft Skype for Business® Office 365. However, the application also provides the ability to centrally 'push' contact lists to users without requiring any desktop client installation or configuration.

Is your organization migrating from IBM SameTime® to Office 365 Skype for Business®?

This tool integrates seamlessly with the Sametime® buddy list exporter. It allows the user to select a folder containing the XML files generated by the SameTime® exporter and easily migrate these contact lists to Office 365 Skype for Business® after some initial configuration. This application works by binding to the Exchange account for each Skype for Business® user. What you need to get started is an MS Exchange® account that has permission to impersonate the users that you are uploading contact lists for and to have the Contact List Provider set to UCS for your organization’s Skype for Business® instance through Microsoft support.

Do you need your Skype for Business® users to have a common group or buddy list in their contacts?

This tool works similarly to the Migrate tool, except that it is designed to upload a generic contact list to a group of Skype for Business® users. This tool won’t clear out user’s existing buddy lists it just appends new contacts to what they already have. This application works by binding to the Exchange account for each Skype for Business® user. What you need to get started is an MS Exchange® account that has rights to impersonate the users that you are uploading contact lists for and to have the Contact List Provider set to UCS for your organization’s Skype for Business® instance through Microsoft support.

Do you need to wipe out the Skype for Business® contact list for a group of users?

This tool does just that! This application works by binding to the Exchange account for each Skype for Business® user. What you need to get started is an MS Exchange® account that has rights to impersonate the users that you are clearing the contact list for and to have the Contact List Provider set to UCS for your organization’s Skype for Business® instance through Microsoft support. In the end, their Skype for Business® client will show two empty groups (the default groups that always show up in the Skype for Business® client) Other Contacts and Favorites.

Exporter Tool for IBM Sametime®

Overview

Instant Exporter Tool simplifies and accelerates the process of migrating from IBM Sametime® to Microsoft Lync® / Skype for Business® by automating the migration of your IBM Sametime® contact lists and eliminating the need to rebuild all your groups and group memberships post-migration. Our tool will also identify how many contacts each Sametime® user has within their contact list which is helpful because by default, Lync® and S4B only allow 250 contact conversions per person.
